What is an excess and how does it work?

The excess is the maximum amount (*) that you would have to pay in the event of damage to the vehicle. The amount of the excess varies depending on the type of vehicle.

When you sign the rental contract, all or part of the excess (**) will be blocked on your credit card. If you return the vehicle undamaged, the retained amount will be released. If you return the vehicle damaged, we will charge you for the damage without prejudice up to the maximum amount of the excess (except in the case of negligence).

 

Is there anything that is not included in the "comprehensive cover"?

Protection cover does not apply to the following:

- Damage to the interior of the vehicle.

- Special cleaning service (if the vehicle is returned with excessive dirt).

- Costs related to a refuelling error or fuel shortage.

- Rescue in unpaved areas.

- Replacement of a punctured tyre and wheel.

- Damage in the event of negligence

- Breaking windows or opening doors by force, leaving objects in the vehicle that could be stolen.

- Damage to the underbody and transmission.

 

Can I travel between the islands with my hired vehicle?

You may NOT leave Mallorca without the consent of the rental company. If the rental company allows this, you will have to adapt the contract by paying a surcharge when picking up the vehicle.

 

Can I travel abroad with my rental car?

NO, the company does not allow this.

 

Can I hire an additional driver?

Our departure price includes 2 drivers, the main driver and the second driver. If you need an additional driver, you will have to pay 3€ more per day. This option can be formally agreed both when booking the vehicle and at the time of collection. All drivers must present valid documents.

What is the minimum age for driving a rental car with SolyMar?

The minimum age to rent a vehicle on www.rentacarsolymar.com is 24 years and 3 years of experience.

 

Who is allowed to drive the vehicle?

Only those persons listed in the rental agreement as the primary or additional driver.

 

Fuel policy

You must return the vehicle with the same fuel you picked it up with. We do not charge extra, unless you not return it with the same fuel. If you return the vehicle with less fuel, you will be charged an extra 10€.

 

What documents do I need when rent the vehicle?

You will need to bring your passport or ID card, driving licence and credit card. Additional drivers must bring their passport or ID card and driving licence.

 

How can I cancel a booking and is there a penalty for cancelling?

There is no penalty if you cancel your booking up to 24 hours before the day of hire. If you cancel after 24 hours, you will only be charged for the first day of your booking.

Do you deliver vehicles directly to the airport?

YES, WE DO. We deliver the vehicle at the airport, in the public car park in front of the arrival terminal, on the 3nd floor (orange zone)
