TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  -The insurance allows rental to persons over 24 years of age, with 3 years of experience.

  -The rental days will be calculated: From 1 TO 2 DAYS = Business hours. From 3 DAYS = 24 hours, since the client has rented the vehicle.

  -Credit cards: VISA and Master-card are accepted. Both franchises and their removal must always be paid with credit cards. In the event that the customer chooses the CDW option, payment by debit card is permitted. Assistance 365 days a year. Fuel policy On delivery of the vehicle, we check the fuel tank, and the customer has to return it. If the customer does not return the tank the same, we will charge 10 euros, in addition to the difference in fuel, as refuelling costs, Traffic fines SOLYMAR Rent a car is obliged by law to provide the authorities with the details of customers who receive a traffic fine during the rental period. The customer will have to pay the fine directly to the authorities.

 

Collection of the vehicle at the airport:

-Minimum rental at the airport is 3 days.

The pick-up and drop-off service at the airport is free of charge. The customer will pay the cost of the ticket from 19h, when the vehicle is picked up, or when he/she has the Key and Go service. Rent a car SOL&MAR will pay the parking ticket when the customer returns the vehicle at the end of the contract, within our business hours (8h to 20h), if the customer returns the vehicle outside these hours, you must pay the parking ticket, after 20h, (pay 25€), if you return the vehicle between 4 and 8 in the morning, you must pay 2.90€ per hour, public parking price.

 

Included in the price:

- VAT and taxes included.
- 60 minutes grace period from pick-up time.
- Unlimited mileage.
- Coverage against vehicle theft
- Personal Injury Assistance (PAI)
- Third party liability cover

This cover does not include damage to the vehicle, the customer must pay the excess (depending on the model). In order to insure these elements, an additional insurance (DCW) must be taken out, the conditions of which are explained below.

In case of accident or damage to the vehicle, it is compulsory for the client to fill in an accident/damage report and hand it in to our office. Likewise, in case of theft of the vehicle, the client is obliged to report it to the police and hand in the report to our office.
Any accident or damage to the vehicle that is not reported will be interpreted as negligence on the part of the client and the client may incur additional costs.
The insurance taken out by the lessor covers the lessee and authorised drivers under this contract against civil liability (damage to third parties).

The insurance allows the rental to persons over 24 years of age, with 3 years of experience.

Not included in the price and considered as extras

1st-2nd Driver Free, + additional drivers 3,00 €/day.

Any accessory such as navigator, child seats, etc., can be hired at an additional cost, the price of which is available at the time of booking.

They are not covered by the insurance with/without deductible
and therefore the following cases of loss or damage shall be borne by the client:

-Loss or damage to keys
-Fuel failure
-Underbody blow
-Towing service (Only when the customer incurs in negligence not covered by the insurance).
-Damage to clutch and gearbox.
-Breakage of windows or forced doors, for leaving objects in view in the vehicle susceptible to being stolen with the following damage to the vehicle. 

In the event that the Client contracts the complementary cover "CDW All Risks Insurance Without Excess", no deposit will be blocked or provisionally charged to the payment card.

A valid passport or ID card, driving licence and a valid credit or debit card must be presented when collecting the vehicle. If the card is different from the one with which the customer paid for the booking, the card must be physically shown to our staff upon request.

Insurance and coverage
Basic Coverage: The rental rates also include SOLYMAR BASIC COVERAGE, which includes damage to the vehicle as a result of:
1) collision
2) theft
3) and accidental fire or vandalism.
The Basic Cover includes an excess for such damage for which the customer is directly responsible. This excess must be guaranteed by the provision of the corresponding deposit or by taking out Additional Coverage.

THE FOLLOWING CASES ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED FROM THE INSURANCE (WITH OR WITHOUT EXCESS) CONTRACTED

1) Vehicle interiors and underbody.
2) Tire punctures and blowouts.
3) Damage caused to the clutch and gearbox.
4) Replacement of the vehicle, in case the lessor is the cause of the damage.
5) Battery recharging.
6) The loss or breakage of keys.
7) Wrong fuel.

Additional Coverage (CDW Insurance without Excess)
The rental rates do not include the ADDITIONAL COVERAGE, which covers damages expressly excluded from the Basic Coverage. Said coverage can be contracted at the time of vehicle pick-up and will only be valid if the client complies with the above conditions.

If you have taken out insurance without excess, you do not have to pay for any damage caused, except for the rental days for the replacement of another vehicle, if the lessor is at fault for the damage caused.


In the additional cover (CDW) does not include:

a) Damage to the vehicle′s interior and underbody.
b) Punctures and tyre burst tyres.
c) Replacement of the vehicle in the event of a collision, where the lessor is at fault.
d) Reckless driving or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
e) Person not included in the contract.
f) Loss or breakage of key
g) Fuel error

Unauthorised use
It is the customer′s obligation not to allow the vehicle to be driven by any person other than those authorised in accordance with this contract, and the customer shall be directly liable for any damage or harm caused to the vehicle or to third parties in such a case.
Any case of non-compliance with the provisions of these paragraphs shall be understood as unauthorised use.
The customer shall be fully liable for any damage caused to interior and exterior parts of the vehicle due to unauthorised use of the vehicle, in which case the customer is obliged to pay all costs incurred in accordance with the provisions.

Unauthorised use includes, but is not limited to, the following cases cited by way of example:

a) Pushing or towing any other vehicle.
b) Driving on sites that are not suitable for public transport, such as beaches, automobile tracks, forest tracks, country roads, etc.
c) Driving on roads that are not asphalted, or are asphalted but with serious deficiencies, which could lead to damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle.
d) Transport of goods or animals and especially dangerous, flammable and/or harmful substances for the vehicle and its occupants.
(e) The subletting of the vehicle
f) The use of the vehicle in any activity contrary to the law
g) transporting more persons or more luggage than the vehicle is authorised to carry
h) Leaving objects in plain view in the vehicle which are likely to be stolen with consequent damage to the vehicle.
i) Soiling the interior of the vehicle beyond what reasonable and careful use implies.
j) Driving the vehicle in a state of fatigue, illness or under the influence of alcohol, medication or drugs.
k) Reckless driving
l) Use of the vehicle for learner driving activities in any circumstances and/or the teaching of any special driving skills.
(m) driving contrary to traffic regulations
n) Driving of the rented vehicle by a person not authorised in the contract either as client/s and/or additional driver/s.
ñ) Driving the vehicle outside the island of Mallorca, unless there is express and signed authorisation from the company in both cases and the corresponding extraordinary ADDITIONAL COVERAGE has been contracted and paid for.
o) Use of the vehicle after the end of the rental period.

Unauthorised use by the customer shall entitle SOLyMAR to terminate the Rental Contract in advance for culpable breach of the contract, requesting, where appropriate, the corresponding compensation for damages.

Credit cards
VISA and Mastercard are accepted. Both franchises and their elimination must always be paid with credit cards. In the event that the client chooses the CDW option, payment by debit card is permitted.

Assistance
365 days a year.

Fuel policy
Upon delivery of the vehicle, we check the fuel tank, and the customer has to return the same. If the customer does not return the tank the same, he will be charged €10 in addition to the difference in fuel, for refuelling costs.

Traffic fines
SOLYMAR Rent a car is obliged by law to provide the authorities with the details of customers who receive a traffic fine during the rental period.
The customer will have to pay the fine directly to the authorities.

Restrictions
-Vehicles cannot be taken abroad or between islands.
-Clients must provide us with a local address (flat, flat, villa, hotel, etc.).
-The minimum age of the driver is 24 years old, with a driving licence for more than 3 years.
-Drivers over 70 years of age have the same conditions.
-In the event that the category of vehicle booked is not available at the time of collection, a higher category vehicle will be provided at no additional cost.
-The insurance does not cover, under any circumstances, accidents and damages caused by driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medicines or any other substance that reduces the driver′s capacity, as well as when the driver is not authorised to drive the rented vehicle or even if he/she is authorised, the accident occurs in breach of the contract or the basic rules of the road.
-The transport of goods or animals may only take place with the express consent of SOLYMAR car rental. Failure to comply with these regulations may be a special cleaning, provides the customer with up to 100 €.

Theft and loss of personal belongings
Sol&Mar is not responsible for stolen, forgotten or lost objects inside the vehicle.

Deposit
Unless the client has taken out the optional supplementary cover, he/she must pay a deposit on delivery of the vehicle, the amount of which is defined according to the category.

Standard or extreme cleaning
The rental price includes a standard cleaning of the vehicle, however, if the vehicle is returned in an extremely dirty state, Rent a car SOL&MAR will be obliged to charge 100€ / 150€ for special cleaning.

Cancellation of reservation
Cancellations without penalty must be made at least 24 hours before the start of the rental. You will be charged 1 day′s rental at the rate in force at the time of cancellation.

Late return of the vehicle
If the vehicle is returned later than the date agreed in the rental contract, the insurance will be invalidated and the customer will be liable for the payment of 1 day′s rental after the grace period (60 minutes).

Collection of the vehicle at the airport
The pick-up and drop-off service at the airport is free of charge. The customer will pay the cost of the parking ticket at Palma airport at the time of collection. The amount of the ticket will not exceed €5 (except in case the flight is delayed without prior notice), except for deliveries between 20:00 - 8:00, when it can be up to €20. Rent a car SOL&MAR will pay the parking ticket when the client returns the vehicle at the end of the contract, during our business hours (8h to 19h), if the client returns the vehicle outside these hours, the client must pay the parking ticket, being €2.90 per hour.

Mandatory child restraint device approved for children.
If the vehicle is used to transport children under three years of age or older children under 150 centimetres in height, the client must inform Sol&Mar so that they can provide, upon payment of the corresponding rental fee and without anchoring it to the vehicle, the corresponding approved mandatory restraint device in accordance with the weight and size of the child or person who must use it. The installation of the device will always be the responsibility of the client.
